Paramount Property is One of the Best Companies to Work for in Asia

Kuala Lumpur, 2 July 2013:

Paramount Corporation Berhad’s wholly owned subsidiary, Paramount Property Development Sendirian Berhad (PPD), was presented the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2013 Award by HR Asia, Asia’s most authoritative publication for HR professionals at a presentation event held in Kuala Lumpur today.

Accepting the award was Dato’ Teo Chiang Quan, Executive Deputy Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer of Paramount Corporation Berhad, who was accompanied by Dato’ Ricque Liew, Chief Executive Officer of the Paramount Property Division and Managing Director of PPD.

Dato’ Teo said, “More than a trophy, the award is recognition that our efforts to improve employee engagement, to create a nurturing and inspiring workplace, and most of all to offer our employees a clear and rewarding career in the Paramount Group of Companies has not gone unnoticed.

“The Paramount Property team, lead by Dato’ Ricque, has placed great emphasis on growing human capital, and making it a key business priority. They have wholeheartedly embraced the belief that high employee engagement reduces staff turnover, improves customer satisfaction, drives workforce performance, improves business results and delivers greater shareholder value, and this award is testament to their efforts in these areas.”

This is the second time that Paramount Property has received an award for its people management practices; in 2011, it was conferred the Silver Award for Employer of Choice Category at the Malaysia HR Awards 2011.

Paramount Property has demonstrable commitment in the area of human capital development, with strong practices in its talent attraction, development, deployment and retention.

Anchored on its brand positioning “Old hands, young hearts”, Paramount Property’s corporate culture is built around the tenets of being trustworthy, respectful of its customers, communities and planet; and behaving with integrity. The company encourages its people to be brave and bold, embracing the future and being open to new ideas, new trends and new ways of doing business. And it aims to be both eager and entrepreneurial, finding innovative ways to add value to its stakeholders.

Paramount Properties human capital strategies include structured training programmes to develop staff’s knowledge and skills, rewards and incentives including the Long Term Incentive Plan for employees, a sports and recreation club that balances work and personal life as well as career advancement opportunities.

The HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Award presents a platform for industry leaders to celebrate excellence in people management and workplace diversity. The awards cover 12 markets across the region, culminating with an awards Report in HR Asia’s bumper issue No. 18 this year.
